I made a makeup case last night. It was SO easy! I can't wait to make another one (with modifications, of course)

I am so proud of myself! I have learned how to sew a zipper to my projects. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  My first project was a pencil/makeup case. I found the tutorial from Everyday Beautiful.

Up next was a bubble skirt.  backstory--My Niece spends almost every Friday afternoon with me and she has been helping me stay on task by scheduling a project every week.  This last week we made a bubble skirt AND hair accessories to match.

The good news? My blog won't be so stale (at least that's my hope)

Cooking...

My favorite movie lately is Julie and Julia.

After watching it for about the sixth time I was motivated to try my hand at Beef Bourguignonne. It looks so yummy in the movie. My brother (who is an awesome cook) has the recipe....for the crockpot!!

I have all of my "Cast of Characters" (as the Pioneer Woman would say)

So here we go!

Yea! My skirt is finally done. I wore it to work yesterday.

The fabric is Michael Miller cotton, black and gray damask.
