Ever feel like you're stuck in a creative rut? I do. I usually have 2-3 different projects going at one time to help take my mind off of whatever creative block is bothering me.
My sister (Hi Janette!) and I were discussing this issue a while back. We decided to start an artist challenge. Every month will be a new theme, drawn or designed any way you want. January is the beginning of our challenge. This month's theme is: draw something round. Feel free to participate, it doesn't have to be limited to a pencil and paper. Make a layout or card using round elements. Think outside the box--literally! I will share my idea at the end of the month.
Happy New Year!

A simple gift idea
This year I have made glass etched vases for Christmas. Each vase has the initial of the family who will be receiving one.
I purchased a vase from Hobby Lobby for about $2.00 (they were on sale) and I bought a roll of clear adhesive laminate paper. I printed off the letter from my computer to use as a template. I cut the letter out onto the laminate with a hobby blade (you will use the negative piece of laminate not the actual letter) I put the laminate onto the glass vase and brushed the glass etching liquid over the image. Five minutes is all it takes! I haven't decided what I will put in it, so far the choices are: chocolate or a candle.
