Daisy Baby Quilt

I finally finished my Daisy Baby Quilt.   The pattern can be found for free at Piper's Quilts and Comforts website.  You can also purchase the quilt kit at Piper's.  It is also the #1 pattern downloaded on Craftsy.com.  I can understand why.  It is SO cute.

I'm in love...

With this darling house.

Built in 1895.  She's pretty tiny (about 800 sq ft.) We are working to put her back together.  I love the fact that EVERY room has wallpaper.   Very old wallpaper.  I can only imagine how fabulous she looked in her day.  Great transformations are ahead...

More quilts

This is a Tinkerbell quilt I made for Quilt for Kids.  They mail you the materials and you put it together and mail it back.  It is then donated to children who are in the hospital.

This quilt is for my darling hairstylist who had a little boy.  When I went to Riley Blake I couldn't resist this cute fabric.

I'm taking a beginning quilting class this week at Piper's Quilts in Sugarhouse.  I'm so excited to learn more about quilting from the professionals.

Cherry,Cherry (Quilt #2)

(I secretly LOVE Neil Diamond...shhh, don't tell)
So as a tribute to Neil coming to concert, I made this lap quilt out of Lori Holt's Sew Cherry fabric line.
I even tried a little free motion quilting!!

Spring Cleaning

Yay!
I'm doing a ton of craft room spring cleaning.

I decided my craft room needed a MAJOR overhaul.  What does this mean? It means that the majority of my scrap booking and card making supplies will be sold.  Along with fabric scraps and ribbon. You might be wondering: What would I do with fabric scraps? A lot of these scraps are strips from a quilt i've made, which are perfect for making rosettes for hair and clothing accessories  Right now I am filling 10x15 inch bags full of supplies.  Each bag will be different but each bag will have over $50 worth of supplies from manufacturers such as Making Memories, SEI, Stampin Up!, K&Co.  All My Memories, My Minds Eye, and Basic Grey.  I will be adding them to my Etsy shop for $10 (plus 5.00 for shipping)  If you live local, call me or email me if you want one.

Packed and ready to go!

Unusual?

It's not unusual for me to have two (or sometimes three) projects in the works at the same time.  I'm not sure why I do this.  I think it's ADD.  The thought just came to me tonight while working on two projects at once.  I wondered if other people do this or it's just me...

Here's a glimpse:

Hello There...

Yes, its been a while.  Don't worry I'm okay--(for the 2 people who actually read this blog)
So much going on these last few months.
You probably noticed the link to the Skin Cancer Foundation on the right hand side.  I had Stage one Melanoma. The doctor found it on my calf.  Thankfully, it hadn't spread.  I still can't believe I had cancer.  I now have to get screened every four months for two years.
Early detection saved my life!

On top of that, my mom is getting married! Today.  It has been a whirlwind of planning, caterers, invitations, etc.  I'm so happy for her.

I have many projects in the works.  I hope to have pictures and tutorials soon

New kits added to my Etsy Shoppe

I've added cosmetic bag kits to my shoppe.

The kit comes with everything you will need to make two matching cosmetic bags and one sunglass case.  With step-by-step instructions too.  Fabric is 100% cotton.  The kit includes iron-on vinyl for the inside of the bags for easy clean up.
Don't be intimidated with sewing zippers--(they really are easy) and once you've sewn one, it's life changing!

I will post a tutorial soon on how I make cosmetic bags.

Valentine's Idea

So I'm sure everyone has seen this idea on Pinterest.  My friends and I are making these for our Husbands for Valentine's Day.  We've added a different twist using vinyl lettering.  We didn't want to have dry erase gunk around the lettering so Letter Express It! reversed the vinyl.

Here's an example with an 8x10 frame using paper.

Happy Birthday**Edited**

This post is a few days late but I had to show my "MAD skills".  I made my Nephew a LEGO cake for his birthday.
I added little LEGO characters on it later.. I found this idea on the Betty Crocker website.  The only difference is that I used loaf pans instead of layering the cake. I also made LEGO men chocolates to go around the cake (I used a LEGO ice tray)
